Apple releases new MacBook Air

by Cagan EGE2014/05/06

Apple has just released the MacBook Air given an update. The Air is now available with a faster processor.

You can buy the MacBook air now with a 1.4GHz Intel Core i5 processor and Turbo Boost up to 2.7Ghz. Formerly it had a 1.3GHz processor with Turbo Boost up to 2.6GHz. They all have 4GB of onboard RAM (expandable to 8GB) and 128GB to 512GB of flash storage. The graphics are provided by Intel HD Graphics 5000. It is a minor update, but the Air has also received a price reduction. This is now at € 929 for the base model.

We expect even a bigger update of the Macbook Air later this year. Apple would work on a 12-inch MacBook with a completely new design and a Retina Display. This would be launched in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year. It would be a model that is as useful as the 11-inch Macbook Air and as powerful as the 13-inch MacBook Air. Itwould also be a completely new design (Clamshell), and work with an Intel chip, not the A8 processor. Presumably this would also be a bit cheaper than the current MacBooks. macbook-air
